The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Customer Services is extending Saturday hours at four driver licensing centers for the next three months.
More than 81,000 Oahu residents' driver’s license or state identification cards will expire this year. The extended Saturday hours will help residents get a driver’s license, state identification card or a behind-the-wheel road test, according to a news release.
Starting April 6, residents will have access to these city services on at least one Saturday through June 29 at Kapalama, Kapolei, Koolau and Wahiawa Driver Licensing Centers.
The weekend hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and appointment only. Standby service will be available, but same-day service is not guaranteed. Standby service offsets cancellations and no-show appointments.

Since Nov. 2021, DCS has offered weekend hours at select driver licensing centers.
“We expect the ongoing Saturday service to greatly benefit the thousands of residents who need driver licensing and state ID services,” said Kim Hashiro, director of DCS, in the news release.
