HONOLULU — Sponsored by the University of Hawaii and the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, Hawaii Tech Days of Spring 2024 is a series of free events geared toward connecting students and job seekers with local tech companies to encourage networking and exploring the different career options available.

The purpose of the events that began in February and will continue through the end of April is to boost Hawaii’s skilled IT workforce along with the demand for local jobs in the tech industry.

“These events are providing students, educators and others with valuable opportunities to learn from and engage with IT employers,” said Alan Ito in a news release. Ito is the UH IT workforce development and regulated policy lead.

“We are grateful for the collaboration within the IT industry and their commitment to investing in workforce development initiatives that are cultivating our skilled local IT workforce and equipping our teachers with the knowledge to understand what opportunities are out there for their students,” Ito said.

In addition to UH and the Chamber of Commerce, partners include IT Sector Partnership, CIO Council of Hawaii, Cyber Hawaii, Hawaii Defense Alliance, Thrive HI, the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Association of Computing Machinery Student Chapter.
