HONOLULU — A partnership between the Department of Community Services, WorkHawaii Division and the Hawaii State Public Library System will provide individuals access to career development services and program information at 10 participating libraries across Oahu.

It’s the city's the latest initiative to increase access to resources for the public who are unable to commute to the WorkHawaii office in Iwilei, according to a news release.

WorkHawaii staff will be available at the following libraries on the dates and times indicated:

  • Aiea - First Wednesday, 1-4 p.m.
  • Kahuku - First Monday, 9 a.m.-noon
  • Kaimuki - First Tuesday, 1-4 p.m.
  • Kalihi-Palama - Second Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon
  • McCully-Moiliili - Third Tuesday, 1-4 p.m.
  • Nanakuli - First Wednesday, 1-4 p.m.
  • Pearl City - Second Wednesday, 1-4 p.m.
  • Wahiawa - Second Tuesday, 1-4 p.m.
  • Waianae - First Monday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Waimanalo - First Wednesday, 1-4 p.m.

“We are thrilled to announce our strategic collaboration with 10 libraries across Oahu, significantly expanding our reach to disseminate vital information on our comprehensive services,” said WorkHawaii Administrator Leinaʻala Nakamura in the release.

“From housing and employment assistance to GED preparation and certification training, our commitment to empowering communities knows no bounds. This initiative aims to touch the lives of many community members, making essential resources accessible and fostering growth and success for all,” said Nakamura.

Services include GED preparation and work experience for youths and adults, short-term rental subsidies for working individuals, vocational training tuition assistance, and direct outreach to long-term unhoused and unemployed individuals.
