HONOLULU — The Kawailoa Transfer Station will be closed to the public, private haulers and city haulers on two days in December, the City and County of Honolulu Department of Environmental Services announced.

Work to improve the station’s infrastructure requires closures on Dec. 6 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and all day on Dec. 11, according to a news release.

Crews will be pouring concrete to add both a new load-out and office building onsite to improve operations and services.

The public is asked to either hold on to their trash during these two periods or use an alternative city disposal location.
