HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK, Hawaii — The National Park Service announced a change from two signatures to one on all America the Beautiful — National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands annual passes and park-specific passes starting Jan. 1, 2024.
This nationwide change will affect the Interagency Annual Pass and annual Hawaii Tri-Park Pass that provides admission to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park on Hawaii Island and Haleakala National Park on Maui.
The public will also be able to purchase the Hawaii Tri-Park Annual Pass online at Recreation.gov. Purchasers can download the digital pass from the website and exchange it for a physical pass at any of the three participating Hawaii parks.
According to the NPS, the change is necessary to ensure “consistency and fairness” among all Interagency Passes and park-specific passes, as well as to prevent fraud and reduce revenue loss. The change will affect all who purchase passes at pass sales outlets, including park entrances and the USGS store site. Park passes are not transferable.
Current passes with two signatures will be honored through their expiration dates.
