KAPAA, Hawaii — Starting Mon., Nov. 20, the Route 60 Kapahi shuttle bus will no longer service two stops — the Mahelona Hospital Foyer and Kapaa High School Pavilion. The change is being made to improve public transportation services for the community, announced The Kauai Bus.

Instead, three new sheltered bus stops in nearby locations on Kawaihau Road will service the public:

  • Mahelona Hospital (formerly Mahelona Hospital Foyer)
  • Kapaa High School (formerly Kapaa High School Pavilion)
  • and Across Kapaa High School (a new shelter across from the Kapaa High School Pavilion stop)

“This change will create a more efficient schedule for Route 60 Kapahi Shuttle and increase the safety of many pedestrians in this busy location,” said Transportation Agency Executive Celia Mahikoa in a release. “We apologize for any inconvenience this relocation may cause and appreciate your understanding during this transition.”
