The hour-long news show “60 Minutes” on CBS will feature the Aug. 8 Lahaina fire in its episode premiering Sunday.
The Department of Land and Natural Resources sent a news release regarding the show, because Michael Walker, State Protection Forester with the DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife was interviewed for "60 Minutes."
Walker, who is an expert in wildfire prevention, was interviewed on Oct. 4 in a field of invasive grass above Lahainaluna High School. In the interview, he explained the connection between invasive grasses and wildfire, which contributed to the spread of the Aug. 8 fire.
In Hawaii, “60 Minutes” airs on KGMB-TV (Hawaii News Now) at 6 p.m. Sundays.
Walker also appears in “60 Minutes Overtime,” a digital-only story.
