Gov. Josh Green has ordered the United States and Hawaii state flags to remain lowered in respect for the victims of the deadly Oct. 25 mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine.

The flags have been flying at half-staff since Oct. 20, when the governor ordered them lowered in mourning for lives lost in the ongoing Israel-Hamas War.

The updated order applies to the Hawaii State Capitol, all state offices and agencies, and Hawaii National Guard facilities in Hawaii.

President Joseph Biden has also ordered U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff for the Lewiston victims until sunset on Oct. 30.

As of Friday afternoon, a massive manhunt remained in progress for 40-year-old Robert Card, a certified firearms instructor and U.S. Army reservist believed to be responsible for killing 18 people and injuring 13 others in the mass shooting at a Lewiston restaurant and bowling alley.
