Honolulu Ocean Safety assisted six hikers off the Kaena Point Trail Monday afternoon because of a brush fire, according to a Honolulu Emergency Services news release.
Lifeguards responded just before 12:40 p.m. by land and water. Honolulu Ocean Safety brought the hikers to Yokohama Bay via jet ski, where they could get to their vehicles and exit the area. Lifeguards have also evacuated the beach, which is now closed to the public.
