HONOLULU — The H-3 freeway Halawa-bound lanes will be closed this weekend for repairs, according to a Hawaii Department of Transportation release.

The closure will take place between Halekou Interchange to the Halawa Interchange. This includes the on-ramp from Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe and the on-ramp from Likelike Highway.

The freeway lanes will be closed from Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 4 a.m.

While the Halawa-bound lanes are closed, crews will replace the Haiku Valley Viaduct Joint No. 1. The 55-hour closure is required for the joint to cure.

Crews will also trim trees along the freeway while it is closed.

HDOT recommends drivers use Likelike Highway or Pali Highway while the road is closed.
