Road closures on Kaumualii Hwy. (Route 50) will begin on July 10 to allow for tree trimming work, according to the Hawaii Department of Transportation.
Officials advise motorists of a single-lane closure in the westbound direction in the area of Lauoho Rd. and Puuwai Rd. from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 10 through July 14. Crews will alternate traffic through the open eastbound lane.
HDOT urges motorists to use alternate routes if possible and to expect delays. Proceed with caution through the work area. Electronic message boards will be placed to notify drivers of closures.
They also remind the public that roadwork is weather permitting.
Check the DOT site for information regarding weekly road closures. People can also sign up for road closure alerts and other HDOT news via email or text alerts.
