LIHUE, Hawaii — Several Kauai County departments have been relocated because of damage to their offices caused by a June 18 water leak. The Engineering Division, Department of Parks and Recreation Permitting Office, and the Building Division have moved to the Lihue Civic Center and are in the following locations:
- Engineering Division is at the Piikoi Building (Purchasing office), Suite 303, across the Department of Motor Vehicles. Hours: 7:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Contact: 808-241-4883, pwengineering@kauai.gov.
- Department of Parks and Recreation Permitting Office is at the Moikeha Building, Suite 105. Hours: 7:45 a.m.-4 p.m. Contact: 808-241-4460, parks@kauai.gov.
- Building Division is at Hale Kokua, Suite 302. Hours: 7:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Contact: 241-4854, building@kauai.gov.
The Department of Human Resources office is also undergoing repairs. Central Payroll staff will telework intermittently and will be available via phone, email and Microsoft Teams. People may go to the Moikeha Bldg., Suite 140, for in-person questions for the Department of Human Resources, including the Payroll Division. Officials estimate the repairs will be completed in six months.
