LIHUE, Hawaii — With the priority of improving communication between Kauai County and island residents, the county issued a request for proposals to software companies to achieve this goal in 2021. The result is a newly launched County of Kauai website that is more streamlined and organized.
“The County of Kauai has collaborated with Granicus, a vendor that serves governments of all sizes, to enhance the online experience of its public,” said Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami in a news release. “Our IT team and county departments have worked tirelessly to revamp the website, resulting in improved accessibility of information to the public.”
Designed to enhance user-friendliness, improve search capabilities and provide access to well-organized information, the site features an updated look and a new communication tool called “GovDelivery Communications Cloud.” The tool allows users to select the information they want to receive and enables efficient information delivery.
The site also provides easier access to Kauai County Council, boards and commissions meetings, with a focus on agenda item discussions. The intent is to increase community awareness of government actions, projects and policies.
People can sign up for county updates including news releases, emergency notifications, Solid Waste announcements and more by submitting an email address or mobile phone number.
