HONOLULU — Blinks and K-pop fans are probably losing sleep over the upcoming YG Entertainment Inc. global audition for a new performing artist, set for June 4 in Honolulu.
YG Entertainment is the label behind Blackpink, a South Korean girl group with more than 55 million followers on Instagram. The powerhouse band’s fanbase, who are called “Blinks,” is found across the globe. YG’s current roster also includes to Sechs Kies, Big Bang, as well as solo artist Jeon Somi.
An open audition chance to be a member of a full-fledged K-pop band without leaving the islands is a rare opportunity. Other international locations that have made the list of spots YG is visiting are Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Shenzen, Beijing and Manila, to name a few.
