HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation announced the public can now pay for parking via a phone app at approximately 1,700 city parking meters.
The DTS is using the “Park Smarter” phone app to modernize parking meters and payment systems at select on-street city parking stalls in Honolulu from Chinatown to Waikiki. Designated parking meters display a “Park Smarter” sticker with its own unique parking zone number.
The app is free to download on iOS and Android mobile devices and only accepts credit card payments. People can also still pay using coins on the “Park Smarter” and other parking meters.
