LIHUE, Hawaii — The County of Kauai Transportation Agency announced it is accepting applications for its Kauai Bus Pass Outreach Program. The intent is to provide free or discounted bus passes to those with transportation needs through eligible Kauai-based nonprofit organizations.
The program’s funding period is from Dec. 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. The deadline to apply is Dec. 31.
According to the agency, applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Nonprofits will need to submit applications via the Kauai County Connect online system. Click on the Kauai Bus icon, then on the Kauai Bus Outreach Program Application icon.
A selection panel will review and score applications based on the applicant’s program information. It includes what service the applicant provides to the community and how many community members would benefit from the program.
