HONOLULU — The Park West Fine Art Museum & Gallery in Waikiki launched its second annual Made in Hawaii artist competition in September and recently announced its top three finalists — Hilton Alves, Kristine Provenza and Crissia Vaughn.

Local artists submitted hundreds of works of art for the opportunity to win a year-long contract with Park West Gallery, and a three-month exhibition at the Park West Gallery in Waikiki. The list was narrowed to the top 10 semi-finalists, then to the top three after two weeks of public voting.

It’s now up to a panel of judges who will evaluate the works submitted by the three finalists, and submit their final selection during the week of Nov. 28 for the 2022 Made in Hawaii grand prize winner.

Oahu artist Chris Sebo was last year’s Made in Hawaii winner. He has since signed with the Park West Gallery and his artwork is now on display at the Waikiki gallery. This year’s winner will also have their artwork featured in the 3,000-square-foot gallery alongside masterpieces by Picasso, Rembrandt, Renoir and other art icons.
