Baldwin Beach Park and three Maui County pools were closed Friday, Nov. 25, according to a Department of Parks and Recreation news release.

Baldwin Beach Park is closed because of flooding that was caused by heavy rains on Thursday, Nov. 24.

Three Maui County pools — Kokua Pool, Coach Spencer Shiraishi Pool and New Wailuku Pool — were also closed because of staffing shortages. The pools are now reopened.

"Because we are short on staff pools can close on any given day due to the shortage of staff. We have a few vacancies that we are trying to fill," Maui's Parks and Recreation Pool Manager Duke Sevilla told Spectrum News Hawaii.

The beach park will remain closed until further notice. Spectrum News Hawaii will update this story when the facilities reopen.
