WAIALUA, Hawaii — As of Saturday afternoon, the Department of Land and Natural Resources has temporarily closed the Mokuleia section of Kaena Point State Park because of an investigation into a “downed aircraft,” according to a DLNR news release.

Law enforcement officers have closed Farrington Hwy. within the park’s boundary just past Camp Erdman, and will enforce the closure until further notice.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to a hang glider crash just past Dillingham Airfield at approximately 8:15 a.m., according to Spectrum News partner the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. Two males were pronounced dead at the scene.
