As of 10:45 a.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service has canceled the Flash Flood Warning for Kauai. No road closures or impacts have been reported as of this time.
At 9:03 a.m. Sunday morning, the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for the island of Kauai until 11 a.m. Heavy showers are impacting the island with additional moderate to heavy showers set to come in from the northeast.
Portions of the island have already received over three inches of rain in the past three hours, according to the NWS Honolulu. Water levels have risen quickly in the Wainiha and Hanalei streams and will likely continue throughout the morning.
Most parts of the island may experience flash flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties and other low-lying areas.
NWS advises the public to not cross fast flowing or rising water while in the vehicle or on foot.
The warning may be extended beyond 11 a.m. if flooding persists.
