Fares for TheBus and TheHandi-Van are going up effective July 1.

The increases apply to daily, monthly and annual passes for adult, youth, senior and disability categories.

For adults, TheBus single-ride fares will increase to $3 from $2.75. Also increasing are the daily maximum capped fare ($7.50 from $5.50), monthly pass or maximum capped fare ($80 from $70) and annual maximum capped fare ($880 from $770).

For youths, the new fares are $1.50 (previously $1.25) for single-ride fares; $3.75 ($2.50) for daily maximum capped fare; $40 ($35) for monthly pass or maximum capped fare; and $440 ($385) for annual maximum capped fare.

For senior and disabled riders, new fares for the same categories are: $1.25 (up from $1); $3 ($2); $20 ($6) and $45 ($35). 

Fare capping is available with a HOLO card.

Fare for TheHandi-Van will increase to $2.25 per ride, up from $2 per ride. 

The increases, approved via the enactment of Ordinance 21-7 this year, are the first since 2018.
