Maui residents will be able to get free COVID-19 tests beginning next week without leaving their cars.
Mayor Michael Victorino announced in a release that the county will offer free drive-through tests six days a week starting on Jan. 3, 2022, for the month.
Testing will be held at the Memorial Stadium parking lot in Wailuku from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and 4-8 p.m. Monday and Thursday in the parking lot area next to Ichiro “Iron” Maehara Stadium.
“I want to thank the state Department of Health and the Kidney Foundation of Hawaii for partnering with Maui County to provide drive-through testing for our community,” Victorino said in a statement. “Providing quick and accessible testing to our community helps identify positive COVID-19 cases early, keep infected individuals isolated and slow the spread of the virus in our community.”
Appointments are required and can be made in advance at AlohaClear.com.
