CBS announced Thursday it will renew its hit series "NCIS: Hawai‘i" for a second season, which stars Vanessa Lachey as the first female special agent in charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor.
Fans are drawn to the lead character Jane Tennant’s dynamic life, as she tackles both being a mom and investigating high-stakes crimes relating to military personnel and national security.
Tennant’s diverse team includes a mix of mainland transplants who’ve moved to Oahu. Just like other notable TV series filmed in Hawaii, locals love watching this show not only for its content, but to see where they might be filming.
Immensely popular, the show has reached over 11 billion potential social media impressions during its freshman season. Along with Lachey, it stars Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Tori Anderson and Kian Talan.
Matt Bosack, Jan Nash, Christopher Silber and Larry Teng are the executive producers.
Antoon told Spectrum News Hawaii that while filming in Oahu, his new favorite snack food is now “teriyaki spam musubi.” Musubi never fails to satisfy.
Watch "NCIS: Hawai‘i" on CBS on Mondays at 10 p.m.
