LANAI CITY, Hawaii — Maui County’s Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking community input for the design of Lanai’s first skate park, according to a press release.
The designs were created after initial community input was considered with an online survey in October 2021.
The designs involve two concepts. The first has more transition elements and includes a mini-ramp with a spine, a step-up gap with a rail, a flow area and bowl pocket. The second design is more stretched out and includes a mini ramp section and step-up gap without a rail, and it does not include a spine, flow area or bowl pocket. Each design offers different curb features.
The designs were created by California Skate Parks, and the design images show the future Lanai Skate Park from multiple angles.
