CBS renewed a handful of series on Tuesday for the 2023-2024 season, including “NCIS” and “NCIS: Hawai’i.”
The announcement extends the popular “NCIS” flagship drama to its 21st season, while the spinoff “NCIS: Hawai’i” was renewed for a third season.
“This season CBS is continuing its winning tradition, delivering an unparalleled combination of top returning series and new hit shows that are entertaining huge audiences on both broadcast and streaming,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, in a release.
“NCIS: Hawai’i,” which is primarily filmed on Oahu, stars Vanessa Lachey as Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor, Jane Tennant. Some filming takes place at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, near Honolulu.
The show employs about 300 local crew from Hawaii and about 250 local cast and extras.
