HONOLULU — A newly released ranking of top universities around the world shows the University of Hawaii at Manoa positioned at number 259 among the more than 26,000 universities worldwide.
The 2021 Aggregate Ranking of Top Universities released on Jan. 18 combines the annual rankings made by Times Higher Education, Quacquarelli Symonds and Academic Ranking of World Universities, which are considered some of the most influential global rankings.
The University of Hawaii at Manoa ranked in the global listings at 259 and in the national listings at 66. The ARTU ranking considers 2,052 universities, while the QS has determined that there are at least 26,368 universities worldwide.
The groups look at academic reputation, research, student engagement, graduation rates, diversity and other metrics.
ARTU was created three years ago by the University of New South Wales.
“UH Mānoa is regularly recognized as among the top research universities in the world. This aggregate ranking confirms our standing in a very strong and public fashion, and is a reflection of the continued remarkable achievements of our faculty, staff and students,” UH Mānoa Provost Michael Bruno said in a press release.
