Kauai job seekers will have the opportunity to meet potential employers face-to-face at the West Kauai Job Fair set for 3-7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Hanapepe United Church of Christ.

Job hunters will be able to learn about new positions and meet and ask questions of onsite staff representing more than 20 businesses offering a wide range of jobs in retail, food and beverage, administrative, professional, indoors, outdoors.

Many roles include training. Full-time and part-time jobs are ready to be filled, and a few companies will conduct interviews with the possibility of same-day hire. Many of the job opportunities will be based in central- and west Kauai, according to the Kauai Economic Development Board.

The event is a collaborative effort between the County of Kauai, Kauai Economic Development Board, Kauai Filipino Chamber of Commerce, American Job Center-Kauai, Pacific Missile Range Facility and the State of Hawaii Workforce Development Division.

COVID-19 guidelines will apply, which include temperature check upon entry, wearing a mask at all times, social distancing, sanitizing hands and minimizing physical contact with others. All participants will be required to either provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 24 hours prior to the start of the job fair, as well as a valid state ID or driver's license. Note that required tests must be from a testing facility; home tests will not be accepted.
