The holiday display is in the works for Honolulu Hale, and so is Kapolei City Lights for Oahu’s west side community.

According to the City and County of Honolulu, they’ve located the 60-foot Cook Pine tree that will be the event’s centerpiece in front of Kapolei Hale. It’s scheduled to be harvested at 10 a.m. Nov. 29 at Makaunulau Community Park near the intersection of Kuahelani Avenue and Makaunulau Street in Mililani.

The tree is set to be installed in Kapolei starting at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 1.

This year, vibrant displays and sculptures will adorn the exterior of Kapolei Hale, ideal for drive-by viewing. It will open to the public at 8 p.m. Dec. 11 and run through Jan. 9, 2022.

There will be no parade or block party due to the pandemic.
