A new development in the search for a missing fugitive who's been on the run for nearly two weeks.
A man by the name of DeShawnte Waller was taken into custody in North Carolina.
We're told he's being held for U.S. Marshals.
Investigators in Syracuse have been looking for a man by the same name since October 2.
They tried to pull over DeShawnte Waller, but he took off down East Genesee Street. It turns out he was wanted on a parole violation.
The chase ended when he crashed into another vehicle. Waller ran off on foot, and a manhunt began.
Authorities say Waller has a long list of convictions, including rape, assault and robbery.
