CORNING, N.Y. -- The RIT student charged with her mother's murder faced a judge in Corning on Friday.

Karrie Neurauter, 20, pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge.

She waived her right to a preliminary hearing, which will move the case to Steuben County Court.

Karrie and her father Lloyd Neurauter are accused of killing 46-year-old Michele Neurauter back in August.

Investigators claim the two attempted to cover up the crime to look like a suicide.
