Barry Vee joined the Spectrum News 1 team in 2016 with more than two decades of reporting experience. A Rochester native, Barry had his first taste of reporting while attending Monroe Community College. From there, Barry knew exactly what his path was going to be. For Barry, one of the best things about working at a 24-hour news station is how each day brings change and new, exciting challenges.
Believe it or not, Barry was voted Rochester’s sexiest radio personality in the 90s and is a proud member of the Rochester Bowling Hall of Fame. This animal lover enjoys attending local sporting events and regularly spends his time volunteering at various shelters throughout his community.
When Barry isn’t reporting, you can find him spending time with his beautiful wife, Cindy, six kids, and five dogs in the town he calls home sweet home. With over 30 years in the area, Barry knows that nothing is better than a summer day at the Rochester International Jazz Festival, listening to Grammy-winning artists while sniffing lilacs and eating those good ol’ Rochester garbage plates.
