U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy will win a second term representing New York’s 23rd Congressional District, the Associated Press declares.

The freshman Republican has defeated Democrat Tom Carle in Tuesday’s election, according to the latest unofficial results from AP.

Langworthy previously served as the chair of the state Republican Party from 2019 to 2022 and the Erie County Republican Committee prior to that. He was also a congressional staffer for former Rep. Tom Reynolds, where he said he learned the value of constituent services.

He was first elected in 2022 to the 23rd District, which is made up of a large swath of Western New York and the Southern Tier.

Langworthy will be sworn in as a member of the 119th Congress in January.
