The Buffalo Bills will look to improve to 3-0 on the season Monday night when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars and they got some encouraging news on Saturday.

Defensive ends Javon Solomon and Dawuane Smoot both should be good to play, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Both of them have missed the first two games of the season with injury.

The Bills have been looking for an experienced player like Smoot who can help get the defensive lineman in the right spots while he’s in the game.

"He brings a certain level of toughness to our defense and veteran leadership at the same time," McDermott said. "It was a role that we needed. We had been looking for it for some time. Being to able to find the right person is hard, right, because you have to have certain traits that go with that role. So we’re fortunate we able to find him and he has some of those traits.

Solomon, a rookie, could make his first appearance in an NFL game Monday night at Highmark Stadium.

Kickoff will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday night in Orchard Park.
