BUFFALO, N.Y. — The concept is simple — sit in a trailer, a couple of stadium seats and talk about what your favorite memory at Highmark Stadium or maybe one of the older stadiums was as a part of Bills Mafia.

"It's kind of hard to put my finger on exactly one memory in particular," said Bills Mafia legend and 2022 Buffalo Bills Fan of the Year John Lang (aka "Bills Elvis.")

Lang has a lifetime of memories that have even made their way onto broadcasts before, but it's every time he's in the stadium.

"At the top of section 126, and there's Bob the usher giving me high fives and the electricity and the noise of that. And it's just, it's so overwhelming and so awesome. I, I look forward to it every game day," he said.

Some people have had less light shown on their history with the Bills.

"My story is from way back in the 70s, I used to park cars in the driveway on Jefferson and Marston when they were playing there," said Jeanne Legall.

She has been rooting for the team from afar in Charlotte between watching them at Johnny B. Wiley and recently returning to Western New York.

Collectively, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and those directly with the stadium are collecting their biggest memories.

"I was in the stadium on Jefferson when O.J. busted that awesome record and that stadium on Jefferson and Marston and those years ago," she noted. "That was 50 years ago. My son will be 50 [years old] this year and for 50 years, we've been Buffalo Bills number one fans."

"It was a [New England] Patriots game about two years ago. It was one of the coldest games of the season, if not that I remember. And he told me we did not have to dress very layered because the heaters get really hot," said content creator and fellow fan Daisy Tucker. "We ended up having to go buy more hoodies because we were so cold and the breeze really got us. And that is one of my favorite memories with my dad."

"So I'm just here in memory of my brother Derek," another fan, Taylor Black, said into the camera in the booth. "He passed away a little over two years ago. He was the biggest Bills fan I've ever met, so I miss him a lot. I love him a lot. And I'm here for him."

For generations of fans that have come before, to everyone we'll see when the Bills see the last beam put in place at the new stadium.

"Well, it's nice just to keep his memory going," Black added. "I like to think he's always here with me to a certain amount. One time they're going to go to the Super Bowl. I'm just holding out for that."

"That's like the highlight of our year," said Legall. "Those are our extended family members. It's going to be like starting over with another generation, another stadium."

The goals remain the same — win the big one and celebrate with those closest to us, wherever.

"You feel them, the Bills Mafia is just a huge family of people and you really get the camaraderie of getting together on a Sunday, or whatever the game day is. It's just incredible It is. It's like no other," said Lang.

Highmark’s TaleGate activation will be on hand at the Sept. 23 and Dec. 1 home games in Lot 6, Gate 5. Fans can also share their stories online.
