Alberto Reyes, the man who admitted burying the body of 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon on a Wayne County farm is now facing federal charges for illegally re-entering the country.
The 26-year-old from Mexico is charged with possession of a counterfeit social security card, alien registration card and illegal re-entry after deportation.
Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Prosecutors say he has previously been deported twice.
Reyes was was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office last week and charged with tampering with evidence.
Deputies say he admitted to moving Selena's body from their Joy Road home but not to killing her.
Authorities continue to search the Sodus farm for any sign of Selena's 14-month-old son Owen Hildalgo-Calderon.
Reyes has not offered any information about Owen's whereabouts.
Owen was last seen alive on May 16th.
