ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It's the United Way's 25th Annual Day of Caring. Thousands of people around Rochester will help clean-up, repair, paint and plant flowers at dozens of area non-profit groups, parks, schools and neighborhoods.

It's a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of day for more than 5,000 volunteers — one of the biggest volunteer events in the Greater Rochester area.

It's major spring cleaning assistance for a number of agencies like CP Rochester, CDS, Heritage Christian Services and Episcopal SeniorLife.

United Way's Day of Caring puts volunteers where they are needed most. They'll be some yard clean-up and raking, trimming, mulching, indoor cleaning and even some painting.

This is a community building mission to work together on these improvement projects. It also raises awareness for Rochester's human service agencies.

Volunteers are still needed. There's a list of specific locations available at the United Way of Rochester's website.

A lot of hard work ahead Thursday for these volunteers!
