ROCHESTER, N.Y. — High school students showcased their talents at the Rochester Philharmonic League's annual Young Artist Auditions.

The musicians competed in categories like male vocal, female vocal, strings, piano and instrumental.

Each winner received $500 as well as a shot at performing with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.

Two scholarships, each worth one thousand dollars, went to a college-bound vocalist and an instrumentalist.

"I think it's crazy that I won this. I think its an amazing opportunity, and I'm just really happy," said scholarship winner Gabriella Toriseva.

The winners of the competition will be celebrated on July 8th in Hatch Hall at the Eastman school of music.
