ROCHESTER, N.Y. — New details released about what could potentially be on Parcel 5.
City officials unveiled plans of a slightly altered version of the project that calls for an entertainment complex.
Among the changes: The addition of an IMAX-style movie theater and a rooftop entertainment area.
Paychex founder, Tom Golisano has pledged $25 million toward the $130 million project. The rest of the funding is yet to be secured.
Mayor Lovely Warren is tapping former Chamber of Commerce CEO, Sandy Parker to help in that effort.
"There's a lot that's already been done," Paker said. "And I think there are some other potential funders out there that are just kind of waiting for something to push it forward again. It has kind of stagnated quite frankly over the past several months, but I think having somebody that can focus on driving it should help to move it forward."
The mayor is also asking City Council to OK legislation to hire a consultant.
They would be tasked with answering additional questions related to the project’s long-term impacts.
Parker and the Mayor hope the project can get underway sometime this fall.
