GREECE, N.Y. -- As communities nationwide battle the opioid addiction crisis, affected families in the area participated in 'A Day of Hope and Healing' in Greece on Saturday.

They were joined by Gates Police Chief James Van Brederode as well as speakers from local organizations that offer families support.

Speakers discussed a wide range of topics, including grief and the legal system.

Attendees also received information on recovery and healthcare. The free event was hosted by Recovery Houses of Rochester and Moms Impacted by Addiction.
