ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Red Cross says it's helping eight people who live in the Mount Read Garden Apartments after a car plowed into a building there.

This happened on Joanne Drive early Sunday morning.

One neighbor says he witnessed the crash.

"We pull into my driveway and the next thing we know, we hear 'vooooooom' and we look up, this car is coming down Glenora Drive doing about 80, no lights, straight coming and I tell her, 'she's not going to make that curve,'" said neighbor Darryl Martin. "Next thing we know, she comes straight into this building. Boom. Jumped the curb and went right into the building."

Martin said when he and his friend got to the car, the driver had run off.
