ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Officials at the Strong National Museum of Play hope to make a big purchase in a few weeks to get their massive expansion off and running.

The "Strong Neighborhood of Play" proposal would use up some of that new acreage created by filling in part of the Inner Loop.

The new addition to the museum would add a hotel, a parking garage and retail-mixed use as part of creating more of an entertainment district in the area.

The museum has been working on these plans since late 2015.

The project has a price tag of at least $105 million.

Now legislation submitted to Rochester city council and posted to the city's website would authorize the museum to put down cash for the land; $2 million is the asking price for two parcels of inner loop territory and two adjacent properties.

Rochester city council next meets on August 15th.
