"We did our part, now you do yours." That's the call from Monroe County Republicans to their counterparts across the aisle.

Two weeks ago, the Republican Committee voluntarily returned more than $90,000 it had received in donations from those connected to the recent LDC bid rigging scandal. The GOP says Democrats need to return more than $5,200 connected to convicted businessman Daniel Lynch and his company Navitech.

Lynch admitted to stealing money from county projects in court. The Democrats have said they plan to give the money to the Child Care Council because vital public services like child care suffered because of the scandal.

"The fact of the matter is, this is the county taxpayers money. It should go back to the county taxpayers, not a charity of their choice so they can garner favoritism with a particular charity," said Bill Reilich, Monroe County Republican Committee Chairman.

Democratic chair Jamie Romeo released a statement Monday and did not want to discuss the topic any further Tuesday. Republican chair Bill Reilich says he thinks his counterpart wants the public to forget about it because her party is cash-strapped.
