ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Mayoral candidate Rachel Barnhart says the city's Board of Ethics will take up her complaint about a recent Uber job fair held at city hall.

City leaders recently held the job fair which was sponsored by the ride-hailing business.

This comes just weeks before ride-hailing will become legal in upstate.

Barnhart is questioning why the city promoted Uber over other ride hailing companies. She adds it may be because of the company's ties to Mayor Lovely Warren's former chief of staff.

"Let's be clear. This complaint isn't about a job fair. It's about pay to play culture," Barnhart said in a statement. "It's about a mayor who promotes herself at the expense of citizens."

Competing ride-hailing service Lyft is having another job fair at city hall Thursday.

Barnhart is facing off against incumbent Lovely Warren and fellow Democratic candidate James Sheppard.
