Counselor, author and mother of four, Sharmilla Fassbender, discussed her book "Fanatically Me," a blueprint for helping kids love themselves for who they are while also celebrating the successes of others.

Fassbender says to help kids grow, they need attention. She recommends putting down the phone, listening and just being present.

"When you start the new year, it starts the pace for the rest of the year, too," Fassbender said. "And when you are working with your kids and not just focusing on yourself, I think it's a good way to bond as a family."

In the spring, Fassbender has a third book coming out to help with anger management. For more information about her and her books, click here.
