Greg Diakomihalis has been following in his brother's footsteps, not hiding in his shadow.

Greg is ranked second in the Nation at 113 pounds. He earned the top spot by winning the Who's #1 Tournament before losing on a late takedown in the finals of the Super 32 Challenge last weekend to Richie Figueroa in Charlotte, NC.

His older brother, Yianni, has the State record for consecutive victories and by Greg's count, he'd need to win every match in his final two seasons to get it. Yianni, now a sophomore at Cornell, won the NCAA title as a freshman while wrestling on a knee that required surgery after the season. On the first day that colleges could speak to high school juniors, Cornell's coach came to the Diakomihalis home at midnight and left with Greg's verbal commitment.

With Hilton's talented wrestling lineup, Greg is looking towards team goals during the high school season, including winning a State team title, while the individual goals are similar to Yianni's; going to the Worlds, winning two more State titles and taking another run at the Super 32 title next season.
