GREECE, N.Y. — A man is dead after crashing into a tree and a parked vehicle outside a home on Mount Read Boulevard in Greece. 

Police found the car split in two on Stone Road and the victim was partially ejected.

The driver, 23-year-old John Gallagher of Chili, died at the scene shortly after midnight.

"Early preliminary investigation would suggest that speed was a factor in this accident, however our technicians are going to do a reconstruction and that will determine if in fact speed was a factor and the medical examiner's investigation will give us the answers on if anything else, drugs or alcohol were also a contributing factor," said Dep. Chief Casey Voelkl, Greece Police Department.

Police say there was no one else involved in the crash.
