Johnny Blackshell Jr., already serving a sentence of life without parole for firing into a crowd of people gathered along Genesee Street in 2015, killing three, also robbed a convenience store days before and for that, was sentenced to an additional 147 months in prison.

Blackshell and another man, Joseph Lowry, robbed the 7-Eleven on Lake Avenue around 3:20 a.m. at gunpoint, emptying the cash register of more than $80, and handfuls of cigarettes, tobacco, gum and scratch-off lottery tickets, which prosecutors said Blackshell later received winnings for.

Days later, Blackshell fired an AK-47 into a crowd outside the Boys and Girls Club minutes after a basketball game there. It was August 19, nine days after the convenience store was robbed.

Johnny Johnson, Raekwon Manigault and Jonah Barley all died. Four other people were injured.

Blackshell was convicted on murder, assault and weapons charges.

Two other men initially accused of riding in the car with Blackshell, Jalen Everett and Michael Mathis, were eventually both found not guilty.
