The man charged in connection with a home invasion in October 2016 that led to the death of an elderly Greece man pleaded guilty Tuesday.
Omar Quarles pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and burglary. He made the plea and agreed to a sentence between 20 and 25 years in prison.
He was originally charged with second-degree murder.
Police discovered 86-year-old Charles Fields semi-conscious on October 8 at his home on Maiden Lane.
They were originally called to check on his welfare.
Fields was hospitalized and later died from his injuries.
