ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Fortune Magazine lists Rochester in the top ten of cities most likely to win over Amazon as it searches for a location to build its second world headquarters, also known as "HQ2"
The Greater Rochester Enterprise submitted its pitch to the online retail giant back in October with Buffalo in a joint Western NY bid.
According to Fortune, Rochester has a shot at odds of 16-to-1. Topping the list of most likely winners are Atlanta and Austin at 3-to-1.
However, the Flower City is holding its own against many larger cities, including Chicago, Toronto, Dallas, Denver and others.
The Rochester proposal included a produced video montage highlighting the Rochester-Buffalo corridor.
If Western New York is selected, it could mean as many as 50,000 new jobs to the region over several years.
