PITTSFORD, N.Y. — It's estimated that 225,000 people will attend the 2023 PGA Championship during its run at Oak Hill Country Club. That's a lot of hungry fans, but Oak Hill is prepared.
There are seven food markets set up around the course where fans can stop in throughout the day and grab a bite to eat. Fans will receive a wristband when they arrive at the course that lets them access the markets.
A wide variety of foods and desserts are available to choose from including sushi, burgers, macarons and more. The Patina Restaurant Group began preparing for the event about a year and a half ago, making sure to include local favorites such as Zweigle's hotdogs.
"[There are] right about 365 independent recipes for the event. We make almost everything from scratch from our vinaigrettes. We made about 2,000 pounds of chicken Milanese yesterday for lunch today. So lots and lots of food and lots and lots of planning," said Chef Ed Milan of the Patina Restaurant Group.
Chef Milan says foods with Asian influence such as Kobe beef and kimchi have been very popular.
